Dear customer and partner,

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate our short-term focus, we continue to reinforce all precautions to safeguard our employees while adapting to this rapidly evolving environment.

Indeed, government bodies worldwide have taken major steps last week for the orthopedic industry:

1. The European Parliament has voted to adopt a proposal to delay the implementation of the new EU MDR (Medical Device Regulation) by one year
2. Several US States are lifting ban on “non-essential” elective surgeries

These significant decisions show governments’ determination to redirect focus to end the pandemic, while mitigating collateral impact to patients who have seen surgeries indefinitely postponed.

The news leads us to expect, in the short term, an uptick in implants, as well instrumentations needed to support rescheduled cases. This brings us hope as we move one step closer in resuming our mission to improve patients’ lives.

This is reinforcing our motivation to ramp up production on a global scale, and I am proud to report that we can see improved efficiencies at each of our facilities:

Each Intech site is now running near full capacity, which allows us to keep disruption to a minimum while accommodating your shifts in priorities. This also ensures we have the required bandwidth to support the anticipated rebound in procedures during the market’s recovery period.

As Intech continues working hard to support you, I am extremely grateful for the level of engagement I see all around me: from the heroic frontline health workers to inspiring messages of support from customers and partners alike, all of which have motivated Intechers at all of our facilities. More than ever I feel a strong unity and solidarity from each of you as we join forces to manage this crisis.

Together, we are Intech. Together, we tech care.

Dear valued customers & partners worldwide,

I trust this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. As the COVID-19 pandemic is at forefront of everybody’s mind, it is important for each of us at home like at work to take all precautions at our disposal to fight the spread of this virus.

After taking extraordinary measures (ie. shutting down facilities per local orders, revisiting work schedules and enforcing strict sanitary measures), I am pleased to report today that all Intech facilities have resumed production operations and are now equipped with additional protective equipment (masks, gloves, etc.) while abiding to updated cleaning and hygiene guidelines. Below is up-to-date status for each facility:

Our Intech COVID-19 Surveillance Committee continues to meet daily to assess exposure and monitor impact to manufacturing operations and production schedule. Our team is working hard to ramp up our output capacities to providing you with the best services. As of late, we are even considering the possibility to support the production of critical components for ventilators and/or surgical beds that play a crucial role in providing care to patients with severe respiratory illness, associated with COVID-19.

Despite the cancellation of elective surgeries, surgeons and patients still depend on our products every day: together, we supply vital medical devices to support surgeries worldwide, which are just as necessary today they were two months ago, before the crisis. And for this reason, I wish to reaffirm our support as you through these extraordinary challenging times.

From everyone at Intech, we wish you to stay strong and take care of yourselves and your family and extended community.

Together, we are Intech. Together, we tech care.

Sincerely,

Dear valued customers & partners worldwide,

Given the constantly evolving situation, and after implementing rigorous protocols in order to ensure the security of all our employees, we decided to resume operations across all the Intech facilities.

Our French facilities of Rang-du-Fliers, Saint-Soupplets and Toulon will progressively resume production activities starting Monday March 30th and our Penang (Malaysia) facility is expected to resume by the end of the week, if the Malaysian government allows it, given the vital nature of our business.

Our US locations in Athens, AL. and Kenosha, WI. continue to operate while taking maximum precautions by implementing additional health measures to ensure the safety of all employees.

Indeed, as a manufacturer of medical devices, our mission is just as important today as it was yesterday, and we are taking all feasible measures so that you may continue to serve the hospitals and patients that count on you daily.

Please note, however, that our output and the timing of such will be slightly affected due to measures we have taken to ensure your products arrive safely.

In order to better forecast our production schedule, we ask that you please keep us posted with any shift in priorities due to postponed surgeries or NPI schedule. This insight will help us make appropriate adjustments while maintaining our commitments to your organization.

Dear valued customers & partners worldwide,

I trust you are doing well given the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected us all in some form or another. You can be assured that Intech is closely monitoring this situation and has taken precautionary steps to safeguard the health and safety of our employees, those within the supply chain and even within the community itself.

One thing you should be aware of is that both Wisconsin and Illinois have recently instituted “Shelter-in-Place” orders, which basically limit businesses to continue unless deemed to be essential. Much like your own place of business, being part of the medical supply chain allows us to continue serving our customers under this enactment by the two State governments which impact our site.

Although we are able to continue business as is, please understand that many of our employees, as well as that of our suppliers who may or may not be able to remain open, are fearful for their well-being despite the measures we’ve taken internally. As a result, we’re operating under restricted capacity, as is the same for our suppliers and we simply cannot service all of our customers’ orders in the manner you’ve been accustomed to. Given the circumstances, please find below status of our facilities worldwide:

Dear valued customers & partners worldwide,

As we find ourselves in uncharted territory with the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are taking precautionary steps to safeguard the health and safety of our employees while working with state and local governments.

Please be advised that the French and Malaysian governments have imposed Restricted Movement Orders nationwide from March 17th to March 31st, 2020 as part of countermeasures to limit the spread of the outbreak.
As such, Intech production facilities in FRANCE and MALAYSIA will be shut down from March 18th and I believe it to be in the best interest of our customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Due to the nature of our work, you can imagine such measures will have significant impacts on our production and will disrupt supply.

Dear partner,

Thank you for being a valued member of the Intech extended family. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to affect people and businesses worldwide, I wanted to personally reach out and share with you our commitment to leverage all resources to protect our employees, partners and operations during this time.

Intech is actively monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak, staying up to date with latest guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and taking proactive actions by implementing measures to keep our employees, visitors, and communities safe. Intech’s Coronavirus Surveillance Committee, organized specifically to mitigate this outbreak, is meeting regularly to evaluate the current situation and make decisions to safeguard the health of our employees and our communities while identifying any outside process at risk.

Understandably, we are cancelling trade shows, minimizing visitors to our facilities and shifting to remote work where applicable. At this time, all Intech facilities across America, Europe and Asia are operating at full capacity, taking new orders, and supporting business as usual.

Rest assured we are closely monitoring the situation & abiding by local regulations.

I speak for every member of Intech that we take pride in being your manufacturing partner and are taking every action to minimize the impact this may have on your business.

We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.

Tech care,
Laurent Pruvost
